"Mhm," he affirms, the little smile on his face widening. It's...sort of fun, making Herbert smile like this. Maybe there's something to this whole courting thing, even if his personal approach is...a bit gentler.

The second comment, though, stings a little, echoes of old hurt crossing his face in little shadows as he works.
